Make the print work with the box

A printed carton has folds, joins and edges that a flat graphic does not. Good planning brings the structural drawing and the artwork together before production. This sample page explains the questions a packaging buyer can prepare, without showing real customer logos or claiming a particular print capability.

Begin with the message

Decide what belongs on the outer faces and what should appear after opening. Product information, handling marks and the brand treatment need enough room to remain readable. Keep important content away from folds and joins until the manufacturer supplies the confirmed artwork area.

Agree the proof

A real production process would establish artwork format, colour expectations and the approval method. Screen previews cannot promise an exact result on kraft board or a coated surface. Ask how the supplier presents proofs and whether a physical sample is appropriate for the project. Changes should be agreed before production begins.

Connect print to the specification

The size enquiry includes a simple count of print colours so the buyer can describe an initial requirement. It is not a substitute for a press-ready artwork file. Use the message to explain coverage, inside printing or a special finish that needs discussion. Avoid adding confidential product artwork to a public contact form. This demo does not upload files or transmit information. On a commissioned site, the real supplier could add a secure artwork handover after the project is scoped, with clear access and retention arrangements. Start with the structure, confirm the surfaces, then refine the graphic treatment.
